Day 1 -Sunday

Day 1



Our journey to India was very smooth. Four of us (Kurt and Gloria Nelson, Chris Lyrek, and Hannah Lyrek) traveled from Minneapolis and Garrett Savoie and Bryce Nelson joined up with us in Paris. Together the 6 of us landed in Delhi at 10:45pm to the smiles of Prem and Jacob Gideon. Because of all the construction and closed roads, what would normally take 20 minutes, took the driver about an hour to find our hotel. By 3am we were all asleep. 



Day 2



Our day started with warm sunshine (which is terrific because that would mean the smog levels are low) and drove to Delhi Bible Church. The pastor spoke from Matthew 24:14 “And the gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world and to all people groups as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.” The most unreached people groups are in India!!! More specifically northern India!!! And the center of northern India is, you guessed it, Delhi!!! How exciting and awesome that God worked it out for us to hear that message in the very placed most needing to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ!!! Delhi Bible Church is in the process of raising money to buy a parcel of land in Gargaon (suburb of Delhi) in order to reach these unreached people groups!!! God is moving here in Delhi, let’s partner with him and watch him orchestrate the fulfillment of Matt 24:14. 



To round out our day we visited the parliament building, the president’s house (like our White House) and the WWI memorial. We all fell asleep (well, not the drivers)in the car on the way back to the hotel. All in all a great day in Delhi!!!

Here are 3 prayer requests:

·         Safety and Clean air – New Delhi has experience historic high levels of smog and air pollution. Many at Anurag have had breathing issues in the last few months. The winds have blown much of it away. Pray that it continues to stay clear.

·         Connections – Pray that we will connect with the children and they will see the love of Christ through us. We will be visiting classes at Anurag and the homes of sponsored children and helping to facilitate a 3 day off site teen camp with 160 young people.

·         Encouragement – One  of our goals is to encourage the students and staff at Anurag; To let them know that they are not alone and we love them and are praying for them.
